Raising a baby is the most valuable and the most important job for a Parent.
No matter what experiences we have gone through, there are lots and lots of questions that cross our mind when we have one. Not every Parent is a trained Parent… not every mother has practical experiences on how to handle a baby, not everyone has a gifted childhood.
I am a mother of two wonderful daughters…. I have first-hand experiences, on how to deal with matters related, to their Health, Food, Sleeping pattern etc. A new Mother, on the other hand will surely have a lot of difficulties to deal with, apart from taking rest and taking care of the baby.
Keeping these circumstances into view, I have specifically dealt with matters related to the Babies Health Care Tips, with the day to day sickness. There is absolutely nothing to panic, by going through my articles, you can very well judge, the signs of your baby’s health condition, and act accordingly.
Most Childhood illness is often very minor in nature, and with little caution, are easily preventable. One word though, child Immunizations are highly effective against most Infectious diseases.
Sometimes an illness might appear as normal, but may equally be dangerous and in such condition, seeking medical help is a must. Do not worry being over cautious, in matters related to the baby’s health……….. if you think you need to consult a doctor, then do go for it.
Hence, let me start with the BABY HEALTH CARE TIPS: GUIDE.
BABIES HEALTH: WARNING SYMPTOMS
It is easily recognizable, when the baby is ill. She or he will be somewhat listless, with poor physical movements, loosing appetite, crying and not smiling at all. In such cases, we can treat the baby at home, effectively, but if you are uncertain about anything, do not panic and consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Some of the Symptoms require immediate Medical Attention, these Symptoms are listed below, go through it and have an insight to the baby’s health:
- TEMPERATURE
- VOMITING
- LOOSE MOTIONS/ DIARRHEA
- BREATHING PROBLEM
- LOSS OF APPETITE
- BODY / PHYSICAL PAIN
TEMPERATURE:
The normal body temperature of a child is 37 degree centigrade or 98.6 degree Fahrenheit. In case of the baby having a temperature, judge the overall condition, taking care into account, her appetite, her communication with you and the members of the family, her playing pattern, any earache etc. normally the body temperature of a child varies according to the activeness at a particular period of time.
For a Baby the temperature may be lower in the morning and higher in the evening. It can also be higher, considering the child has been running and there is a lot of physical activities going on.
VOMITING:
In my view, if a child or the baby has been vomiting for over a period of six hours or more, and has loose motions or fever, immediately consult the doctor, without any delay. Vomiting is caused by, food poising, or water contamination, from the Indian perspective.
But do call the doctor; there may be any other serious cause, and the doctor will diagnose the problem.
LOOSE MOTIONS/ DIARRHEA:
Diarrhea is always serious in babies and young children. It leads to Dehydration, which is highly dangerous, and if the baby is less than one year old, call the doctor immediately.
In the meantime ORS solution, or normal water with salt should be given to the child at regular intervals to have the water level maintained in the body.
BREATHING PROBLEM:
Having difficulty in breathing is definitely a medical emergency, and requires immediate help. You will notice that the baby or the child ribs contracts each time she breathes. Having continuous cough, and difficulty in breathing, should not be left unattended to, there can be a possibility of throat infection, so get your child to a medic.
LOSS OF APPETITE:
If the child has a fever or is not very physically active and on top of that, there is a sudden change in appetite, it may indicate an underlying illness. All I can recommend is to take the child or the baby to the doctor, for a through checkup.
This would bring out the problem and the baby or the child can be treated effectively.
BODY OR PHYSICAL PAIN:
As a mother or a parent, one should be alerted when the child complains of any headaches or body pain after, any sudden bumping. Get her to the doctor if the child complains of dizziness, stomach pain, nausea or blurred vision. Never ignore your child’s complain related to their body parts.
Ignoring can be dangerous in the future.
There are other situations that are equally dangerous and immediately attended upon, and they can potentially be Life-threatening. Be vigilant and look for the symptoms.
